hello camel

In his book and the exhibition of the same name hello camel, Christoph Bangert confronts the absurdity of war. He contrasts our clichéd notion of modern war as a dynamic, dramatic and heroic event with his calm and controlled, yet equally peculiar and strange images of the wars in Afghanistan, Gaza and Iraq. At the same time, hello camel is a documentary of the human endeavour, in the face of violence and chaos, to create something approaching normality.
