In his aerial shots, taken from a helicopter out of 1000 feet, the artist shows Californian landscapes and their alteration by man and climate change. Using a particular, “reduced” visual language, which is equally confusing and beautiful, the subject of the vibrant shots is landscape damaged by fire and drought as well as by human interventions, the earth as a consumer good in general. Thomas Heinser (*1958 in Dinslaken) has lived and worked in San Francisco since 1985.
