Alain Bieber has been a curator of exhibitions throughout Europe since 2004; topics have included street art, post-Internet art, Net and media art, political art, gaming and photography. He studied rhetoric, literary studies, sociology, and communication and political science. He worked in the cultural department at cultural broadcaster ARTE, where he was head of ARTE Creative. Prior to that he was editor at ART magazine in Hamburg and taught at a number of universities in Germany and France. As Director of NRW-Forum Düsseldorf he is particularly concerned with the role of photography in digital culture.
