10 Cologne-based photographers and the Kölner Wochenschau each show their look at events and themes that characterized Cologne in the 70s and 80s. The subjects were emancipation, protest culture, poverty, immigration, racism, or also carnival and entertainment. The concern was to portray society as an inclusive, social context, as a forced community or “community of fate”, as a relationship of contradictions, as a struggle for love, as power and impotence of people in their social roles.
