Due to her unconventional aesthetic concept, Annelise Kretschmer (1903–1987) is among the important female photographers of the late Weimar Republic. Although she was represented at the most significant exhibitions of that time with her earliest portraits her work gradually faded into obscurity during the 1930s. Now the Käthe Kollwitz Museum Köln is presenting more than 80 vintage prints, including discoveries from the 1950s and 60s that have never been shown before.
